Please follow the link below for details of London dates for ‘Darkness Spoken’, a spoken word performance of letters written between poets Paul Celan and Ingeborg Bachmann. Set in an urgent, vibrant post war cultural landscape, their love affair was a rich, troubled meeting of poetic imaginations. Actors will read the letters, interwoven with sound and video, followed by a short talk about the writing and the lasting influence of Bachmann’s and Celan’s work.
The premiere takes place tomorrow, Saturday 5 October at 2.30pm in the Weston Pavillion, Royal Festival Hall.
There will be a further performance at the Austrian Cultural Forum on Wednesday 16 October at 7pm.
